Rio Grande Games is the most important US importer of quality German board games. Rio Grande Games prints games together with the German publishers, so that the graphics are same, the only difference is the language (some other companies, like Mayfair, do completely new graphics for the games they import).

Rio Grande Games was founded by Jay Tummelson, who used to work for Mayfair Games. He came up with the bright idea of doing shared printings with the German publishers and left Mayfair to do that. Rio Grande Games started in 1998 and has been doing very well since that: Rio Grande Games is a well-known and well-respected brand in the world of English-speaking board gamers.
