Games Workshop is a British miniature game publisher founded in 1975. The company started as a manufacturer of wooden boards for traditional games, then moved to importing Dungeons & Dragons and later became one of the major hobby game publishers in the world. Games Workshop has also had retail stores since 1978.

Games Workshop has three core miniature games in their line-up: Warhammer Fantasy Battle, Warhammer 40,000 and Lord of the Rings. They also have a bunch of smaller games, labeled as Specialist Games. These games are aimed at more experienced gamers. These games use the worlds and settings of the main games in different ways. There are also plenty of different computer versions of the core games available.
