3M Bookshelf Games

When they hear the name 3M, most people won't think about board games. However, 3M was a major pioneer in publishing clever board games for adults back in 1960's and 1970's. Their Bookshelf Game line-up contained many excellent games. Sid Sackson's masterpiece Acquire is probably the best game in series (it has seen several new editions since 1960's when it was first published).

The name comes from the boxes: the games were designed to be placed in a bookshelf, standing vertically. For more information and a complete list of 3M Bookshelf games, see 3M Bookshelf game series in Wikipedia.
